What is Better Loop?
Better Loop is a WordPress plugin that allows you to very easily create grids or lists of content with filters, such as a list of posts with a category dropdown, or a grid with recipes where you can filter by cuisine.
The functionality is similar to plugins like FacetWP, WP Grid Builder and Search and Filter, but 100% built for the block editor, using modern WordPress standards with an unbeatable user experience.
How is Better Loop different from the default Query block?
Better Loop supports all the functionality from the default Query block, and more! You can convert your existing Query blocks to Better Loop blocks with a single button click.
You can add searching, filtering, multiple post types, more query options, load more/infinite scroll, and all the other Better Loop goodies to your existing queries, and set them up in the same familiar way you already know.
All core blocks like Post Title, Post Date, Post Excerpt, Pagination etc are fully functional and supported in Better Loop.
What exactly is the demo showing?
Good question! In the demo, you see Better Loop in action with a custom post type called Recipes. The recipe types and cuisines are both taxonomies. Better Loop is used to:
- Show the grid with all recipes
- Add the filters (search field and taxonomy selectors)
- Add all the styles to the filters and individual recipes (borders, background color, font size etc)
Will Better Loop work with other page builders (such as Elementor?)
Better Loop is built specifically for the block editor (also known as Gutenberg), and will not work with other page builders. By focusing on the block editor, Better Loop can offer a deep integration with WordPress and take advantage of all features modern WordPress has to offer.
