Better Loop v1.2.0 has landed with some exciting updates—I’ve added a new filter block, expanded color options, and introduced a custom post template block.

Buttons: a new filter block

In v1.2.0, I’m introducing the Buttons filter block. It lets your users select one or multiple filters through clean, clickable buttons that you can style to match your design perfectly.

Give it a try yourself:

Type
  • Apple & Blackberry Crumble

  • Apple Frangipan Tart

  • Baked salmon with fennel & tomatoes

  • Bakewell tart

  • Banana Pancakes

  • Battenberg Cake

The styling is very customizable:

Everything you see above was styled right in the block editor—no code needed. And if you want to push things further with CSS, go for it! Every colors comes with a matching CSS variable to make it super easy to set your own colors in code

Expanded color options

All filter blocks now offer a lot more options for color customization:

Now you can tweak text, background, and border colors, and customize the border and background colors for radio buttons and checkboxes. Of course, all the usual spacing and typography options are there as well.

Custom Post Template block

Better Loop now uses a custom Post Template block instead of the core one. This doesn’t change anything in this update, but does open the door for more possibilities in the future, such as more layout options beyond grids and lists.
